On Monday, December 18, Better Buzz Coffee Roasters created a buzz amongst Bonita residents with the grand opening of their newest drive-thru and walk-up shop.

With over 20 locations around San Diego County, the menu varies depending on the location. The Bonita menu offers a variety of handcrafted coffee and espresso drinks, including flavored cold brews and seasonal lattes. Moreover, they also have a lineup of acai bowls, smoothies, avocado toast, grilled sandwiches, and fresh pastries for any time of the day.

Better Buzz Coffee is a San Diego-based company that has been roasting coffee since 2002. Two college students first opened it as a coffee cart. And in 2007, they opened the first Better Buzz Coffee Roasters in Pacific Beach.

Since then, Better Buzz has grown exponentially, with places all over the county.

This year, the company has been expanding by opening coffee shops in Mission Gorge, San Clemente, and now Bonita; they will have their last opening of the year at the end of this month in La Mesa.

There’s no better time for Better Buzz to open new coffee shops, given the ongoing boycott of Starbucks that has resulted in a loss of over $1 billion in market value for the company. While it may be too early to say, could Better Buzz Coffee Roasters outperform their coffee competition? Only time will tell.
